My oil painting of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia, Bulgaria. It beautifully captures the grandeur and splendour of this iconic cathedral. The exaggerated perspective, gazing up at the Cathedral, emphasises its spiritual resonance and the opulence of its intricate architecture and golden domed roof.
In July, I spent a month in Sofia, in Bulgaria. It was a beautiful city and I was really drawn to try to paint that gold. It was a fun challenge to achieve that golden sheen with just yellow, white and red paint!
