By purchasing from harrietlawlessartist.com, you agree to the following terms:

1. Artwork and Commissions

Each painting is an original, one-of-a-kind work of art. Colours may vary slightly from screen to screen. I do my best to represent each piece accurately, but seeing the work in person is always a richer experience.

Commissions are custom-made and follow a separate written agreement outlining the scope, timeline, and terms. A 20% deposit is required to begin a commission. The remaining balance must be paid in full before the painting is shipped.

Custom framing is included in the price of both original works and commissions.

2. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in GBP (£).
Although I’m Australian and travel full-time, I run my business from the UK, so this is my base currency.

Shipping and custom framing are included in the listed price. There are no extra charges at checkout.

Payment is made via invoice. You’ll receive a detailed invoice by email with payment instructions.
Invoices can be paid securely via Stripe, PayPal, or direct bank transfer.
Full payment is required before any artwork is shipped.

Local taxes, customs fees, or import duties may apply and are not included in the price. These charges are the responsibility of the customer.

3. Shipping

I ship worldwide. Your artwork will be carefully packaged and sent via a tracked and insured courier service.
Delivery times vary depending on location, and I’ll keep you updated throughout the process.

I’m not responsible for delays caused by events outside my control, such as customs issues, courier strikes, or natural events.

Ownership and risk transfer to the buyer once the artwork is delivered and signed for. In the unlikely event of loss or damage during shipping, a replacement or refund will be arranged in line with my Loss or Damage Guarantee.

4. Framing

Premium custom framing is included in the price. The design will be discussed and agreed with the framer, so that it best suits the finished work and the client’s space.

The Artist will guide the framing process. Framing will be carried out to the same high standard as the painting itself.

In the rare event that a specific framing request falls well outside typical professional practice or materially exceeds what is appropriate for the painting, the Artist reserves the right to suggest alternative options that maintain quality and integrity within the agreed scope.

Framing will take 2-3 months after purchase, depending on the complexity of the design and time of year. Including shipping, please allow 3-4 months from purchase to delivery.

5. Returns and Refunds

I offer a 90-day money-back guarantee and a loss or damage refund guarantee.

6. Intellectual Property

You are purchasing the physical artwork, not the copyright. I retain all rights to reproduce and share images of my work, including sold pieces, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If you would like to license or reproduce an artwork, please get in touch.

7. Personal Information

Your information is used only to process your order and communicate with you. It will never be shared with third parties. For more, see my Privacy Policy.

8. Artwork Instalment Plans

For original artworks over £3,000, I offer the option to pay in monthly instalments (typically over 6 months), with no interest or additional fees.

  • The artwork is reserved and removed from sale during the payment period.

  • The artwork is framed and then shipped once the final instalment has been paid.

  • There are no fees or interest, and you may cancel at any time before final payment.

If you choose to cancel your plan:

  • All payments made will be refunded minus a 10% retention fee to cover reservation and admin costs.

  • If the artwork is resold sooner, a larger refund may be possible.

  • Refunds will be processed within 30 days of cancellation.

If an instalment payment is more than 14 days late:

  • The plan will be considered cancelled.

  • The artwork will be returned to public sale.

  • A refund (minus the retention fee) will be processed as above.

Please note: Instalment plans are offered on a goodwill basis. I reserve the right to decline or limit instalment availability at any time.

9. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version displayed on this site at the time of your purchase is the one that applies.
