I painted this spectacular view of sunset in Rio while I was in Brazil. It's such a stunning city and I wanted to capture it nestled amongst the mountains and illuminated with the misty-blue of dusk. If you look closely, you can see a tiny Christ The Redeemer sitting atop the mountain in the background.
Creatively, this painting was all about texture. Layers of transparent colour in the sky to create depth and shimmer.
