My new collection
Each of these six new paintings captures a place that has shaped me over the past year: Australia, Greece, New Zealand and Vietnam. It’s been fascinating to explore how light and colour shift across these really varied places.
Each painting now includes bespoke framing, international shipping, and a few thoughtful extras.
A quiet hillside between Athens and Kalamata.
This painting is based on photos I took out a bus window on my way from Athens to Kalamata last year, and on a lot of studies to get the composition just right. I wanted this painting to feel simple, quiet and elegant. Painting all those olive trees with very subtle shifts from light to dark and cool to warm was way, way harder than I thought it'd be going in!

My painting captures the harsh sunlight and untidy bush near Corowa, NSW, where Tom Roberts painted Shearing the Rams. I visited the area in January as an artist’s pilgrimage, drawn to this landscape so rich in the history of Australian painting.
Two ambiguous figures walk towards the shed, inviting us to imagine their story and those who have travelled through this bush before them. I wanted to capture the intense heat of the day, the crisp crackling grasses underfoot and the dry summer wind in the trees.

Crisp light and deep blue shadows.
This is the view from Roy's Peak, overlooking Lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountains near Queenstown in New Zealand.
I visited in April for my brother's wedding and was simply captivated by the landscape!!

Golden summer sunset in the Adelaide Hills wine country.
It was the red barn that first caught my eye and compelled me to paint this scene. But, what made it really special (other than being night two of my honeymoon!) was that low, hot, golden light filtering across the fields and vines.
I wanted my painting to feel warm and inviting, like you’re having a glass of something wonderful on the veranda while watching the colours change on the hills. I also wanted the red barn to act as a beacon for your attention, pulling your eye into the distance.

Dusk over Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, New Zealand.
I spent a wonderful week in Queenstown in April for my brother’s wedding. Other than indulging in many celebratory drinks, I spent the week admiring the breathtaking scenery. I was especially captivated by the way the sun lit up the mountains just before it dipped below the horizon.
In this painting I wanted to emphasise the finality of that glimpse of warmth, and how freezing it was in the shadows. And, I wanted my painting to make you feel how really, really cold it was, and how much you long for that warmth to return.
